Tickets are now on sale for the Delaware Symphony Orchestra’s upcoming concert season.
The 2018-2019 season starts this fall - kicking off Friday, September 28, 2018 at the Grand Opera House in Wilmington with David Amado conducting “The American Dream: A Tribute to Leonard Bernstein.”
DSO executive director Alan Jordan says that concert will be repeated on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Cape Henlopen High School Theatre in Lewes:
“The program will feature Bernstein’s Serenade, the only work that he wrote for solo violin and orchestra and our soloist is Jennifer Koh, a wonderful musician. On that program also is a work by a living composer, just to pay tribute to continuing the art form….a work by Robert Paterson called Dark Mountains,” Jordan said.
Jordan points out that this is the DSO’s 113th season and Bernstein would have been a century old this year.
Jordan adds that for the first time ticket sales are available directly online at the DSO’s website.
“So starting August 1, people can go to the Delaware Symphony website, that’s DelawareSymphony.org, and click on the concert that they’re interested in and they can order their tickets right online. They can get them printed at home or install them on their mobile device,” said Jordan.
