Delaware City Refinery owner suffers 2nd quarter loss

Delaware Public Media

The company that owns the Delaware City Refinery took a big hit in the second quarter of 2017.

New-Jersey based PBF Energy suffered a suffered a $111 million second quarter loss.

It’s the company’s first loss since the first quarter of 2016 and a 190 drop from its performance this time last year.

PBF Energy says two of its five refineries – including Delaware City - were required to temporarily shut down for scheduled maintenance between March and June.  The company also faced increased costs associated with federal ethanol blending.

All of PBF Energy’s refineries are back on line now.
