Cape May-Lewes Ferry

4th of July is one week away and many of you are planning on where you’ll be watching fireworks this year. The Cape May-Lewes Ferry may be an option.

The Cape May-Lewes Ferry is offering multiple chances to catch a fireworks display over the upcoming July 4th holiday.

“We have three events happening at the Ferry in Lewes for this Independence Day weekend. July 1st, the Ferry will depart the Lewes Terminal at 6:45 p.m. for a venture out to the ocean to witness the Rehoboth fireworks display,” said Jim Salmon, public information officer for the Delaware River and Bay Authority.

He says there are still a limited number of tickets available for the July 1st event, but the ferry’s July 3rd Delaware Bay fireworks cruise is already sold out.

Your other option is to bring a lawn chair or blanket to the Lewes Ferry Terminal Green July 4th to watch the Lewes fireworks. Face painting will kick-off the night at 6 p.m. music begins at 6:30 and fireworks are scheduled to illuminate the skies at 9 p.m.

Salmon says parking is free and the “On the Rocks” Dockside Grille will be open.
